Returns & Refunds Policy

At Aussie General Freight, we stand behind the quality of our shipping containers. This Returns and Refunds Policy explains your rights and the process for returning a container and obtaining a refund. It is designed to comply with the Australian Consumer Law and reflects our 30‑day return offer and 14‑day refund timeframe.

⚡ 30 days to return • 14 days for refund

You may return most containers within 30 days of delivery. Once we receive and inspect the return, we process your refund within 14 days (often sooner).

1. Our 30‑Day Return Promise

If you are not completely satisfied with your container, you may return it within 30 calendar days from the date of delivery or collection. To be eligible, the container must be in the same condition that you received it – unused, unmodified, and in its original state (reasonable wear from inspection excepted).

No structural alterations, no damage caused after delivery, and no unauthorised modifications.

Receipt, tax invoice or order confirmation required with your return request.

2. Refund Timing – 14 Days

Once we have received and inspected your returned container, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, we will process the refund to your original payment method within 14 days (usually faster for credit card / bank transfer).

Please note that original delivery fees are non‑refundable, and you are responsible for return freight costs unless the return is due to our error or a major failure under Australian Consumer Law.

3. Non‑returnable Items

Certain containers and products cannot be returned due to their nature or if they have been customised:

  • Custom‑built / modified containers (e.g., added windows, roller doors, insulation) – these are made to your specifications and cannot be returned unless faulty.
  • Containers with structural alterations made by you or a third party after delivery.
  • Containers stored or used in a way that causes damage, contamination, or excessive wear.
  • Container accessories (if seal broken) – e.g., locks, tie‑downs.
  • Containers held beyond 30 days – returns after 30 days may be refused or subject to restocking fees.

4. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Containers

If you receive a container that is faulty, significantly different from its description, or the wrong container, please contact us within 48 hours. Under the Australian Consumer Law you are entitled to a replacement, repair or refund. We will arrange return shipping at our cost and process your refund within 14 days after inspection.

🔍 Inspect on delivery: To protect your rights, always inspect the container before signing the delivery docket. Note any damage or discrepancy immediately. This helps us resolve issues faster.

5. How to Return a Container

Step 1 – Contact us

Email Sales.aussiegeneralfreightptyltd@outlook.com, photos (if relevant) and reason for return.

Step 2 – Receive return authorisation

We will provide a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number and return instructions. Do not return any container without prior authorisation – unauthorised returns may not be accepted.

Step 3 – Arrange return shipping

You are responsible for return freight costs unless the return is due to our error or a major failure. We recommend using a tracked and insured carrier – we are not liable for lost or damaged return shipments.

Step 4 – Inspection & refund

Once the container arrives at our depot (2 Milton Cct, Port Macquarie NSW 2444, Australia), we inspect it within 2–3 business days. Approved refunds are then processed within 14 days.

6. Restocking Fee

For returns that are not due to our error or a major failure, a restocking fee of up to 10% may be deducted from your refund to cover handling and inspection. You will be informed of any applicable fee before the return is finalised.

7. Refund Method

Refunds are issued to the original payment method. For bank transfers, please allow extra time for your bank to process. If you paid by cash or direct deposit, we will request your bank details to complete the transfer.

9. Order Cancellation (Before Dispatch)

You may cancel your order free of charge at any time before we dispatch the container. If you have already paid, we will refund the full amount within 14 days. Once the container is on its way, the 30‑day return policy applies.

10. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the container, you are entitled to a replacement or refund and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time.
