The Ice Depot functions as a fully integrated ice production and vending system. Water entering the unit passes through a multistage purification process before reaching the ice maker. The ice formation chamber produces uniform 22×22×22 millimeter cube ice, which is transferred to an insulated storage bin . An internal auger system moves ice from storage to the dispensing mechanism as needed.

When a customer initiates a purchase, the payment system validates currency and signals the control board to begin dispensing. For bagged ice orders, the machine automatically positions an empty bag, fills it to the programmed weight, and heat-seals the bag before delivery to the customer. Bulk ice is dispensed directly through a separate chute into the customer’s container.

The cabinet features a front-door design that provides access to internal components for maintenance. A waterproof powder-coated steel exterior protects internal mechanisms from weather exposure when installed outdoors .
