đźšš Shipping Policy

At Aussie General Freight, we know that getting your shipping container safely and promptly to your site is critical. This Shipping Policy explains our delivery process, timeframes, costs, and your responsibilities. We aim to make container delivery simple, transparent, and reliable.

5–7 business days delivery for most metro areas*

*Estimated time from dispatch. Regional and remote locations may take slightly longer – we’ll always confirm an estimated window before you order.

1. Where We Deliver

We deliver shipping containers across all Australian states and territories, including major cities, regional centres, and many remote locations. If you’re in a very remote area (e.g., Pilbara, Cape York, Central Australia), please contact us for a customised quote – we have extensive experience with difficult‑to‑reach sites.

📍 Metro (5–7 days)

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Geelong, Newcastle, Wollongong, Gold Coast, and surrounding suburbs.

🏞️ Regional (7–12 days)

Large regional towns like Dubbo, Toowoomba, Bendigo, Launceston, Bunbury, etc. Delivery often quicker than you think.

⛰️ Remote (quote‑based)

Outback, mining camps, islands, and very remote properties – we’ll work with specialist carriers to get your container there safely.

2. Our 5–7 Day Delivery Promise

Once your order is confirmed and payment cleared, we aim to dispatch your container within 1–2 business days. The delivery window of 5–7 business days is measured from the date of dispatch. This applies to most metro and large regional centres.

  • Order placed Monday, payment confirmed: dispatched Tuesday–Wednesday, delivered the following Monday–Wednesday (5–7 days later).
  • Remote areas: we will provide an estimated delivery window before you place your order.

Please note that unforeseen events (extreme weather, road closures, ferry delays, etc.) may occasionally extend these timeframes. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way.

3. Delivery Costs

We offer a simple flat‑rate shipping fee for container delivery across Australia to keep costs predictable and transparent for our customers.

Region States / territories Flat shipping rate (AUD)
All Australian states NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS AUD 650 (incl. GST)
ACT & NT Territories AUD 650 (incl. GST)

The flat rate of AUD 650 applies per delivery to all Australian states and territories for standard access sites. Extremely remote or hard‑to‑access locations may require a custom quote where additional surcharges apply.

4. Delivery Process – What You Need To Do

To ensure a smooth delivery, please read and follow these steps:

🔹 Before delivery day

  • Site access: Ensure the delivery truck can access your property – minimum width 4.5m, height clearance 5.5m (watch for low trees, power lines).
  • Ground condition: The area where the container will be placed must be reasonably level, firm, and free of overhead obstructions. If you need the container placed on soft ground, you may need to arrange compacted road base or similar.
  • Permits: You are responsible for any council permits or approvals required for placing a container on your land (e.g., residential areas, nature strips).

🔹 On delivery day

  • Be present: You or a representative must be at the site to accept delivery and direct the driver. If no one is present, the driver may leave, and redelivery fees will apply.
  • Inspect before signing: Check the container for any damage that occurred in transit. Note any issues on the delivery docket before signing. If the container is damaged, refuse delivery or clearly mark the damage.
  • Signing: Once you sign, you accept the container in its delivered condition (except for noted damage).

5. Failed Deliveries & Redelivery Fees

If we cannot complete the delivery due to inadequate access, incorrect address, or no one present, a redelivery fee will apply. This fee covers the truck’s return trip and additional scheduling. Typical redelivery fee: $150 – $350 depending on distance. To avoid this, please double‑check all access details before your delivery window.

⚠️ Important: If the driver determines the site is inaccessible (e.g., road too narrow, overhead wires too low), they may refuse to attempt placement. In such cases, you will be charged a failed delivery fee and may need to arrange alternative off‑site delivery or crane hire.

6. Tracking & Communication

Once your container is dispatched, we will provide:

  • Confirmation email with the expected delivery window (typically 2‑hour window on the day).
  • SMS / phone call from the driver on the morning of delivery (where possible).
  • Live tracking for some metro deliveries (ask our team if this is available in your area).

If you have any questions about your delivery status, call us at +61 424 273 630 (option 2) or email sales.aussiegeneralfreightptyltd@outlook.com.

7. International Shipping

While we primarily focus on domestic sales, we can arrange export shipping of containers to many Pacific Islands, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. Please contact our export desk for a quote – international freight timeframes vary greatly and are not covered by this 5–7 day policy.

8. Damaged in Transit?

If your container arrives damaged, you must:

  1. Note the damage on the delivery docket before signing.
  2. Take clear photos of the damage.
  3. Contact us within 24 hours at sales.aussiegeneralfreightptyltd@outlook.com.

We will arrange for inspection and, where appropriate, a replacement or compensation as per Australian Consumer Law and our warranty.
